Designed by Avery Alder, Monsterhearts was first released in 2012 and quickly became a cult favourite for its raw, evocative take on adolescence. The second edition refines its core rules, adds new tools for safety and consent, and centres queer storytelling more intentionally.

Drawing on inspiration from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ginger Snaps, Jennifer’s Body, and similar teen dramas, Monsterhearts 2 captures the intensity of being young, angry, confused—and powerful.
